Things are escalating rapidly. I think there will be revenge killings for a while. And if any pro-Gbagbo forces are able to muster any strength back — they will try to return the revenge again. HIGH END AFRICAN RESTAURAUNT OPENS IN MEATPACKING DISTRICT: Pan-Africanism may have failed as a political idea, but I admit to being interested in the possibilities here.
I know it doesn’t really make sense. (The Times story wonders why there aren’t more African restaurants since there are so many Africans in NYC, as if the difference between foods in Kenya and Senegal were aking to those between Sicily and Rome.) But I’m going.
